S-enantiomer of rolipram which is less active at inhibition of PDE IV. Displays activity 10-fold less than R-rolipram at inhibition of PDE IV. Inhibits antigen-induced contraction of guinea-pig colonic smooth muscle, EC50=1.0µM.
