Marketing Specialist, Farmingdale, NY

Job description

This position is responsible for performing market research, managing marketing campaigns, planning and scheduling trade shows and conferences, preparing reports, and maintaining and distributing promotional materials.

Specific duties include:

  1. Help coordinate and assist in preparing for national, regional, and global tradeshows and meetings
  2. Perform market research to develop better competitive intelligence and new marketing concepts
  3. Review and optimization of Sharepoint of collateral sales material
  4. Lead generation through industry specific research projects
  5. Provide timely fulfillment of requested marketing collateral and manage the inventory of marketing materials, including ordering and distribution
  6. Help prepare and distribute press releases
  7. Proofread marketing materials in development, written communication, website content, and social media postings
  8. Proactively offer creative ideas and solutions to help improve marketing campaigns
  9. Advertisement review and placements
  10. A passion for marketing and analytics and a curiosity to determine what is working and what isn’t, taking the initiative to identify areas of optimization and improve marketing effectiveness
  11. Prepare reports on activities and results of marketing programs, communication campaigns, and activities
  12. Survey customers to optimize marketing initiatives
  13. Source, price, and order premiums for trade shows and general distribution
  14. Serve as the point person for annual media buying, including responsibility for ad requirements and final delivery
  15. Prepare purchase orders, obtain approvals, and follow through on all orders to ensure timely delivery, including service as the main point of contact for vendors
  16. Limited travel in support of trade shows and corporate meetings may be required
  17. Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific or marketing field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 3+ years of related industry marketing experience
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with a strong customer service focus
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, attention to detail, and follow-up skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to achieve results
  • Knowledge of various trade publications and industry trade shows
  • Computer proficiency required, including strong Excel and database skills; knowledge of CRM programs and Social Media platforms preferable; experience a plus
