Scientific Background: | USP21 is a ubiquitin-specific protease that catalyzes the hydrolysis of ubH2A thereby acting to relieve ubH2A-specific repression. USP21 is also thought to be involved with hepatocyte regeneration. Furthermore, in addition to its deubiquitinylating activity, USP21 is capable of removing NEDD8 from NEDD8 conjugates but has no effect on SUMO conjugates. |
Regulatory Status: | RUO - Research Use Only |
Figure: Detection of USP21 in HeLa nuclear fraction (10µg) by Western blotting using PAb to USP21 (human) (Prod. No. BML-PW0585) at 1:1'000 dilution. Note: The bands at ~40kDa are likely to be a truncated forms of the USP21 protein as both these and the full length USP21 band are removed by peptide blockade using the antigenic peptide.
