Chromomycin A3 is a GC-specific DNA ligand which inhibits transcription. It may be used as a fluorescent DNA stain. Antibiotic. Cell permeable fluorescent dye that cann be used with Bisbenzimide H33258 to distinguish chromosomes by their total DNA concentration and their DNA base composition. Does not intercalate. Ex(max): 445nm; Em(max): 575nm
