Phospholipase A2 inhibitor (IC50=7 µM for purified guinea pig lung PLA2). Inhibits epinephrine-stimulated thromboxane production in human platelets (86% at 3.5µM). Also blocks insulin secretion in pancreatic islets in response to glucose. Disrupts membrane tubule-mediated reassembly and maintenance of the Golgi complex.
