Product Specification

Alternative Name:β-NGF
MW:~13.6/27.2 kDa (dimer).
Source:Produced in E. coli. Contains 121/242 amino acids.
UniProt ID:P01139
Formulation:Lyophilized from a sterile (0.2 micron) filtered aqueous solution containing 0.1% Trifluoroacetic Acid (TFA)
Purity:≥95% (SDS-PAGE)
Endotoxin Content:≤1 EU/µg protein (LAL test)
Reconstitution:Reconstitute in sterile water at 0.1 mg/mL.
Long Term Storage:-80°C
Handling:Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. After reconstitution, prepare aliquots and store at -80°C. For long term storage, it is recommended to dilute to working aliquots in a 0.1% BSA solution.
Scientific Background:Human β-NGF is responsible for survival, differentiation and maturation of sympathetic and sensory neurons.
Figure 1: Murine b-NGF induced proliferation of TF-1 cells. Serial dilutions of Mouse β-NGF, starting at 100 ng/mL, were added to TF-1 cells growing in GM-CSF free media. Cell proliferation can be measured and the linear portion of the curve can be used to calculate the ED50.
