Scientific Background:
Pig neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL; also lipocalin 2 or siderocalin) may, by analogy with its homologues in other mammalian species, be released from activated neutrophils in inflammation or infection from certain epithelial cancers, and more dramatically, from renal tubular cells in response to ischemic or nephrotoxic injury.
Regulatory Status:
RUO - Research Use Only
Positive staining of renal tubular cell cytoplasm, using mouse monoclonal antibody against pig NGAL.
NGAL expression in the ishemic injured pig kidney; detected with anti-pig NGAL antibody.
