DNA-damaging effect includes DNA oxidation and methylation, DNA intercalation, inhibition of DNA synthesis, induction of DNA strand breaks and delay of cell cycle progression. Inhibitor of topoisomerase IIα. Produces endonucleolytic cleavage and is a marker of apoptosis.
