New LH ELISA Kit for Sensitive and Rapid Detection of luteinizing hormone

Figure: LH ELISA Kit

Enzo Life Sciences is an established global leader within the immunoassay market with over 300 ELISAs enabling sensitive and specific analysis of biomarkers. Enzo continues to strengthen its leadership position by introducing a New LH ELISA Kit for Sensitive and Rapid Detection of luteinizing hormone.

LH is produced by the gonadotroph cells in the anterior pituitary gland. It is responsible for ovulation in women and controls testosterone synthesis in men. Luteinizing hormone (LH) is a 30 kDa hormone consisting of two subunits – alpha and beta. LH, FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone), TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) and hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin), which are all glycoprotein hormones, share a common alpha subunit but have unique beta subunits. The α-subunit of LH is 92 amino acids in length while the β-subunit, which is responsible for the biological activity, is 121 amino acids long.

The LH ELISA Kit can be used to quantify human LH in serum and plasma samples as well as tissue culture media. This sensitive assay is fully quantitative, with the ability to detect as low as 5.2 mIU/ml of LH, surpassing semi-quantitative Western blot analysis. This assay produces rapid results in less than 2 hours with negligible reactivity to similar glycoprotein hormones.

With this new kit, Enzo Life Sciences extends our line of ELISAs for endocrine analysis, including angiotensin I & II, corticosterone, cortisol, DHEA, 17β estradiol, estriol, big endothelin-1, gastrin I, GLP-1, leptin, oxytocin, progesterone, serotonin, substance P, testosterone, Arg8 vasopressin and 25(OH) vitamin D.
