Scientific Background:
P504S, also known as α-methylacyl coenzyme A racemase (AMACR), is a peroxisomal and mitochondrial enzyme that plays a role in bile acid synthesis and β-oxidation of branched chain fatty acids. P504S, expression has been found in prostatic adenocarcinoma and prostate glands involved in prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia, but not in benign glands or normal prostatic tissue. p63, a member of the p53 family of transcription factors, has been identified in nuclei of the basal epithelium in normal prostate glands and prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia, but not seen expressed in the vast majority of adenocarcinomas of the prostate. High molecular weight cytokeratins (HMWCK) CK5 and CK14 are expressed in a variety of normal and neoplastic epithelial tissues such as basal epithelia in the prostate gland.

Prostate tissue incubated with Enzo's P504S + p63 + HMWCK antibody cocktail (Prod. No. ENZ-ABS717). IHC staining was performed on an automated Leica BOND III. P504 stains (cytoplasm red) p63 (nuclear brown) and high molecular weight cytokeratins (cytoplasmic brown).
Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded prostate tissue stained using Enzo’s P504S+p63+HMWCK cocktail antibody (Prod. No. ENZ-ABS717). IHC staining was performed on an automated Leica BOND III. P504 stains (cytoplasm red) p63 (nuclear brown) and high molecular weight cytokeratins (cytoplasmic brown).
