The PATHO-GENE® HRP-AEC Human papillomavirus (HPV) in situ typing assay for tissue sections provides reagents and materials for (a) preparation and pretreatment and (b) hybridization/detection and typing of HPV DNA (using Horseradish Peroxidase-AEC for signal generation) in 20 tissue biopsy specimens. This product is for research use only and is not to be used for diagnostic procedures.
The PATHO-GENE® HRP-AEC Human papillomavirus (HPV) in situ typing assay for tissue sections employs separate mixtures of HPV-specific probes to identify HPV types 6/11, 16/18, or 31/33/51. HPV types 6 and 11 are primarily associated with benign lesions presenting as condylomas and mild dysplasia. HPV types 16 and 18 are more commonly associated with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and carcinoma in situ (CIS). HPV types 31, 33 or 51 can be associated with either condyloma or CIN and CIS, presumably dependent upon other, as yet undefined, contributing factors or agents. The PATHO-GENE® HRP-AEC Human papillomavirus (HPV) in situ typing assay for tissue sections can be used to detect and identify HPV DNA in tissue sections under conditions that preserve cellular morphology.
