Cell-permeable molecule capable of directing differentiation of mouse and human embryonic stem cells into endodermal cells (EC50=125nM). Developmental potential of these chemically derived endodermal cells has been shown via continued differentiation into pancreatic progenitor cells and incorporation into developing gut tubes of live mouse embryos. Nodal/Smad signaling is activated indicating IDE-1 functions via TGF-β-signaling pathway.
