Mouse 3T3 cell extracts were blotted and incubated with anti-eIF2-α (pS52) antibody following (1) prior incubation in the presence of the peptide immunogen, (2) the nonphosphopeptide corresponding to the eIF2-α (pS51) phosphopeptide, (3) or no peptide. Only the phospho-peptide corresponding to the region surrounding serine 51 (serine 52 in mouse) blocks the antibody signal.
