Sequence is from Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II autophosphorylation site within the pseudosubstrate negative regulatory region. Inhibition of CaMKII is as effective as BML-P201 (IC50=2 µM) but kinetics are not complicated by phosphorylation of the peptide by CaMKII itself because of the mutation of Thr286 to Ala.
