Peptide sequence, KRELVEPLTPSGEAPNQA, is based on the cytoplasmic domain of the EGF receptor, inclusive of Thr669, a major phosphorylation site in cells stimulated by IL-1, PMA and EGF. This is an excellent substrate for MAPK but a poor substrate for MAPKK.
