Selective inhibitor of Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK). Inhibits the catalytic activity of BTK as well as the interaction between BTK and PKCßII, in intact cells and in cell-free systems, without affecting the activity of PKC. Terreic acid has little or no effect on the activities of Lyn, Syk, PKA, casein kinase I, ERK1, ERK2 and p38 kinase. A useful tool in studying the role of BTK in cellular signaling.
