A selective inhibitor of norepinephrine transporter (Ki=4nM). Serotonin and dopamine transporters are also inhibited at higher concentrations (Ki=61nM and 78.7µM respectively). Reverses the pro-apoptotic effect of chronic unpredictable mild stress in the rat cerebral cortex. Induces apoptosis in several cancer cell lines. Displays anti-inflammatory activity in a rat colitis model.
