Scientific Background: | Nesfatin-1, a polypeptide produced by cleavage of the NEFA/nucleobindin-2 (NUCB2), is a secreted protein expressed in the appetite-control hypothalamic nuclei. Nesfatin is involved in the regulation of the feeding behaviour. Intracerebroventricular injection of nesfatin-1 reduces body weight in rat by affecting the animal food intake. |
