Fluoroquinolone antibacterial agent. Analog of norfloxacin. Prevents bacterial DNA replication by inhibiting DNA gyrase (topoisomerase). Highly effective against Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, other enterobacteria and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Excellent effcectivity against Gram-negative bacteria, also effective against Gram-positive bacteria.
