Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases having diverse physiological functions. Growing evidence suggests that many kallikreins, including kallikrein-6 (KLK6), are implicated in carcinogenesis and some have potential as novel cancer and other disease biomarkers. The KLK6 gene is one of the fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located in a cluster on chromosome 19. The encoded KLK6 enzyme is regulated by steroid hormones. In tissue culture, KLK6 has been found to generate amyloidogenic fragments from the amyloid precursor protein, suggesting a potential for involvement in Alzheimer's disease.
Produced in insect cells. Human recombinant KLK6 (aa 17-244) is fused to a His-tag. Produced in a baculovirus expression system., ≥90% (SDS-PAGE), ELISA, WB | Print as PDF
