Scientific Background: | GRO/CINC-1 (Growth related oncogene/Cytokine-induced neutrophil chemoattractant-1) is a member of the a (CXC) subfamily of chemokines. It is the rat homologue to human interleukin-8 (IL-8). Three additional rat CXC chemokines (CINC-2a, CINC-2b, CINC-3/MIP-2) have been identified. CINCs appear to be the rat counterpart of human GROs. |
