The Substance P EIA kit is a colorimetric competitive enzyme immunoassay kit with results in 3 hours. Absorbance is read at 405 nm. This kit utilized low sample volume and provides the ability to assay up to 38 samples in duplicate per 96 well kit.

Use/Stability:Store components at temperatures indicated on the component labeling. The Antibody, Conjugate and Standard are stored at -20°C and the remaining components are stored at 4°C. For convenience upon receipt, the unopened kit containing all components can be stored at -20°C and are stable at that temperature until the kit’s expiration date. After first thaw, store components at temperature indicated on the labeling as indicated above. Freeze-thaw cycles should be limited for optimal kit performance. Please see Reagent Preparation section in the product manual for more detailed component handling information.

Scientific Background:Substance P is an undecapeptide hormone (RPKPQQFFGLM) that mediates a number of biological activities including nausea, anxiety, pain, and vasodilation. It is a member of the tachykinin family of neuropeptides, and is widely distributed in the peripheral and central nervous systems of vertebrates.
