Fluorogenic substrate specific for cathepsin B (kcat/Km=105 M-1s-1). The following proteases do not cleave, or inefficiently cleave, this substrate: papain, cathepsins C/DPP-I, F, H, K/O2, L, L2/V, O, S, X/Z. Ex.: 365 nm, Em.: 440 nm, although the following Ex/Em can also be used: 355,380/450,460. This substrate is useful for analysis of cathepsin B activity in cell extracts, inhibitor screening, and kinetic analysis. Also available: fluorogenic calibration standard AMC (BML-KI144).
