Nitric oxide (NO) is an important signaling molecule with roles in physiological and pathological processing both beneficial and detrimental, depending on the levels of NO production present. NO protects organs such as the liver from ischemic damage, and its production may result in direct tissue toxicity, potentially contributing to vascular collapse, various carcinomas, and such inflammatory conditions as juvenile diabetes, multiple sclerosis, arthritis and ulcerative colitis. ELS offers a variety of kits and reagents to support the study of NO and its associated molecules, NOS, cGMP, and others.
