Activated Beads

The MultiBead Activated Bead Coupling Kit lets you covalently couple an antibody to fluorescently-labeled latex beads. You may simultaneously quantify up to 20 analytes in a single well through selection of two bead sizes (4.0 and 5.4 μm) and 10 bead intensities. Each activated bead is sufficient for 2000 tests. The number of reactions per kit is equal to the number of beads ordered.

• Your activated bead(s) of choice
• Resuspension buffer
• Quenching buffer
• Sulfo-SMCC
• Control beads
• Control antibody cocktail

The beads are pre-activated and blocked for your convenience. The protocol could not be easier.

1. Activate antibody and quench (~30 minutes)
2. Resuspend beads with activated antibody (~30 minutes)
3. Wash and resuspend

Because bead size determines the amount of antibody coupled to the bead (with 5.4 μm beads providing 82% more surface area), we recommend starting with 5.4 μm beads and supplementing with 4.0 μm beads where appropriate.
