Miscellaneous/General:	PRDM1 (BLIMP1) acts as a repressor of beta-interferon gene expression. The protein binds specifically to the PRDI (positive regulatory domain I element) of the IFNbeta gene promoter, and is a key regulator of terminal B-cell differentiation into antibody-secreting plasma cells. PRDM1 can also activate apoptosis in immature B cells and pre-B cells.
