Macrophage inflammatory protein 2 (MIP-2 or CXCL2), is a small cytokine secreted by monocytes and neutrophils at sites of inflammation. MIP-2 functions through CXCR2, a chemokine receptor,to act as a chemotactic agent for leukocytes and hematopoietic cells.
