Specificity: | PHE5 is specific to chromogranin A, a highly acidic protein associated with the “dense core” granules of many cells of the neural and neuroendocrine system. It reacts with neuroendocrine cells of the gut, pancreatic islet and adrenal medulla, but does not react with any cells in the brain or with melanoma cells. The antibody stains carcinoid tumors, pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas. It is nonreactive with carcinomas, lymphomas and sarcomas. |
Applications: | IHC (PS)
Recommended Dilutions/Conditions: | Immunohistochemistry (paraffin sections; this antibody can be used for staining of paraffin-embedded tissue sections fixed in neutral buffered formalin and is compatible with most commonly used histological fixatives. Choose a good quality enzyme-linked anti-mouse IgG1 antibody for detection). A 20- to 50-fold dilution of the antibody is suggested. Suggested dilutions/conditions may not be available for all applications. Optimal conditions must be determined individually. |
