Miscellaneous/General:	CDC25 protein tyrosine phosphatases activate cyclin dependent kinases by dephosphorylating them, promoting cell division. All three of the genes encoding the CDC25 phosphatases are considered potential oncogenes and the enzymes are drug discovery targets. CDC25A activates CDK2 which is needed for DNA synthesis and becomes degraded in response to DNA damage.
