| Miscellaneous/General: | 14-3-3 proteins are dimeric phosphoserine/phosphothreonine binding proteins, which have been shown to be involved in the regulation of many crucial processes such as signal transduction, cell-cycle control, apoptosis, protein localization, phosphorylation-state, stability, transcription, metabolism, and malignant transformation. The expression of 14-3-3 γ was reported to be significantly reduced in the cerebella of transgenic mice overexpressing IGF-1 and was predominantly, if not exclusively, expressed in Purkinje cells. |
