| Miscellaneous/General: | The P2Y receptors belong to the G-protein coupled receptors superfamily. P2Y receptors mediate the actions of the extracellular nucleotides (ATP, ADP, UTP and UDP) and regulate several physiologic responses, among them, cardiac function, platelet aggregation and SMC proliferation. The human P2Y11 receptor is unique among the P2Y receptors since it is coupled to both phospholipase C and adenylyl cyclase. P2Y11 receptor is highly expressed in spleen and to a much lower extent in platelets. |

| Background / Technical Information: | Preadsorption control: Use 1µg control peptide per 1µg antibody. Prepare 2 tubes. In the first, dilute the necessary amount of antibody in 200-500µl of PBS, 1% BSA and 0.025% sodium azide. Prepare the second tube identically to the first with the addition of the appropriate amount of peptide. Incubate at room temperature for 1 hr. Centrifuge both tubes at 10,000Xg for 5 min. Use the supernatants from tubes 1 and 2 for parallel experiments. |
