Competitive PAF receptor antagonist. Inhibits PAF-induced human platelet aggregation (3-30µM) and bronchoconstriction in the guinea-pig. Inhibits PAF-induced hypotension, contraction of isolated rat colon, acute pancreatitis and lethality. Prevents the effects of systemically administered endotoxin. Important standard for comparison with other PAF antagonists.
