Miscellaneous/General:Adiponectin is involved in controlling the whole-body metabolism, particularly by increasing insulin sensitivity in muscle and liver, and by increasing fatty acid oxidation in muscle. CTRP7 belongs to a highly conserved family of adiponectin paralogs designated as C1q tumor necrosis factor-alpha-related proteins (CTRPs) 1-7. A member of this family, CTRP2 (mouse) has been reported to rapidly induce phosphorylation of AMP-activated protein kinase, acetyl-CoA carboxylase, and mitogen-activated protein kinase in C2C12 myotubes, which resulted in increased glycogen accumulation and fatty acid oxidation.

Figure 1: Western blot analysis of mouse CTRP7 using MAb to CTRP7 (Anna-1) (Prod. No. ALX-804-835). Method: Cell extracts (5x105) from HEK 293T( lane1) or HEK293wt transfected with a plasmid coding for mouse CTRP7 (lane 2) were resolved by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, transferred to nitrocellulose and incubated with the MAb to CTRP7 (Anna-1) (1:1’000) for 2 hours, followed by incubation with HRP-coupled anti-mouse secondary antibody (1:4’000).

Figure 2: Immunohistochemical staining of endogenous human CTRP7 in different human tissues (paraffin sections) using MAb to CTRP7 (Anna-1) (Prod. No. ALX-804-835). Method: Different human normal (A: Cerabral cortex; B: Colon; C: Kidney) or cancer (D: Prostate ; E: Colo-rectal; F: Pancreatic) tissues were stained with MAb to CTRP7 (Anna-1) by standard immunohistochemistry.
