Immunogen:	Recombinant rat RELM-α (resistin-like molecule-α).

Specificity:	Recognizes rat RELM-α. Detects a band of ~10.5kDa by Western blot. Weakly cross-reacts with mouse RELM-α.

Application:	ELISA (direct and indirect: 1:5’000-1:10’000) Western Blot (1:2’000-1:10’000 using ECL. Suggested blocking and dilution buffer is TBST containing 0.05% Tween 20 and 5% skim milk. Suggested incubation time is 1 hour at room temperature). Optimal conditions must be determined individually for each application.

Miscellaneous/General:	Rat RELM-α (resistin-like molecule-α/FIZZ1) is a member to the family of adipocyte-secreted proteins called adipocytokines. Both RELM-α and resistin share high sequence homology in their C-terminal signature domain. However, both fesistin and RELM-α’s biological function as well as its molecular target is largely unknown. Recombinant rat RELM-α is a 10.5 kDa protein consisting of 89 amino acid residues.
