Suggested dilutions/conditions may not be available for all applications.

Scientific Background:Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen (PCNA) is associated with the DNA replication fork and its major function is described as a processivity factor for replicative DNA polymerases (polymerases δ and ε ) acting as a sliding clamp. It has a highly conserved amino acid sequence and has been identified in all eukaryotes and is being used as a proliferating marker. PCNA is also able to interact with multiple partners involved in Okazaki fragment joining, DNA repair, DNA methylation and chromatin assembly. In DNA repair PCNA has been reported not only for nucleotide excision repair (NER) (in concert with XPG and ERCC1), but also for base excision repair (BER) (binding to uracil-DNA glycosylase) and mismatch repair (MMR) (binding to mismatch repair enzymes MSH2 & MLH1). It is further associated with cell cycle control through cdk-cyclins during G1 to S phase.
