Scientific Background:Troy, or TAJ, is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) family. Troy plays a role in axonal regeneration by forming a functional receptor complex with Nog-66 receptor 1 and LINGO-1. This receptor complex binds myelin inhibitors (Nogo-A, myelin.associated glycoprotein (MAG), oligodendrocyte myelin glycoprotein (OMgp) and signals myelin inhibition by activating RhoA. Troy also interacts with TRAF proteins and activates JNK.
