Cell permeable necrosis inhibitor with antioxidant activity. It localizes mostly in the mitochondria. Selectively blocks oxidative stress-induced necrotic cell death (0.1μM NecroX™-5 prevented ~50% cell death in H9C2 cells exposed to 400μM t-BuOOH for 2 hours LDH assay used). Does not protect against staurosporine or etoposide-induced apoptosis. Protects cells against cold shock, hypoxia and oxidative stress in vitro, as well as CCl₄ -induced acute liver injury and chronic liver fibrosis in rodent models.

Background / Technical Information:	*For in vitro* and in vivo applications.** For in vitro experiments, dissolve Necrox-5™ in DMSO to 20-50mM stock solution and dilute further in cell culture media. Treat cells with 30μM to 0.1μM final concentration. For in vivo experiments, dissolve the product in DMSO at a concentration of 10mg/ml stock. Do not use PBS and Water! Optimal conditions must be determined individually for each application.
