- Higher throughput - assay ~200 samples in duplicate in a fraction of the time
- Accurate - fully quantitative results surpass semi-quantitative Western blot analysis
- Specific - low reactivity with related molecules
The IMMUNOSET® αB-Crystallin EIA development set contains sufficient reagents for the development of 5 x 96 well EIA plates which provides analysis of ~200 samples in duplicate. Save time, money, and sample by developing your own EIA kits. Simply coat your plates and go! This kit provides superior accuracy with fully quantitative results compared to Western blot analysis and has low reactivity with related molecules.

Scientific Background: | α-crystallins composed of ~20kDa αA and αB subunits function as major water-soluble proteins accounting for almost 50% of total protein in the mammalian transparent eye lens, also existing in a variety of other tissues. The α-crystallin proteins are members of the small heat shock protein (sHsp) family, as their expression can be induced by heat and other stress insults in a variety of organisms. The α-crystallins possess structural and functional similarities and share sequence homology with Hsp25/273. The conserved α-crystallin domain participates in oligomer assembly, which is critical to their function in the prevention of irreversible protein aggregation. |
